Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

KM Bud is a strictly personal, self-hosted financial management application designed for local and private use. This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to ensuring that your financial data remains completely within your control.

2. Data Collection and Usage

Our application facilitates connections to your financial institutions via the Plaid API to retrieve account balances and transaction history. This data is exclusively used to populate your personal dashboard, run categorization rules, and provide budgeting insights.

Zero Data Selling: Because KM Bud is a self-hosted platform, your data is never compiled, aggregated, shared, or sold to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.

3. Data Storage and Security

All acquired financial data is stored locally within the application's dedicated PostgreSQL database. Access to this database is restricted via credential-based authentication.

Data transmitted between KM Bud and Plaid is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.2 or higher protocols.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

You retain absolute sovereignty over your data. Upon the unlinking of an institution or the explicit request to delete an account from the dashboard, all associated access tokens and cached transaction histories are irrecoverably deleted from the local database structure.

5. Contact

As this is a self-hosted deployment, privacy inquiries should be directed to the technical administrator of your specific instance.
